Creating a buzz around launch of Homestrings.com

Homestrings.com, an innovative investment web portal, required support in creating a media buzz around its launch in July 2011.


Serial entrepreneur Eric Vincent Guichard had developed a means for qualified individuals to invest in emerging markets private equity initiatives, previously the sole preserve of institutional investors.

Identifying a Diasporan investment angle as key to the success of the launch, we developed a set of messaging targeting the sector. In preparation for the launch, we provided Eric with media training and drafted the resulting news release. Pre-release embargo meetings and post launch meetings were arranged with a wide number of business publications.

The Homestrings story gained successful local and international coverage. Interviews were conducted by BBC Radio 4, BBC Afrique and CNBC Africa. We obtained further coverage in Financial Times, The Times, Reuters, Wall Street Journal Europe, Wealth Net, Money Observer, Spear’s Wealth, as well as other high profile publications and local African media.
